Attract Skilled Volunteers

Increasing numbers of skilled volunteers are now willing to contribute their expertise, and knowledge to assist community groups to achieve their objectives.

If you are keen to engage skilled volunteers you might like to consider how they could ‘add value’ by making a positive contribution that opens up new possibilities for your organisation. For example:

  • What else you would do if you had the time or resources?
  • What would you like to do if you had the right skills available to you?

Page 14 of the Toolkit focuses on “Designing Roles that ‘add value’” and pages 20-21 on “Designing roles that meet the needs of your organisation”.

VQ’s Skillsbank service, planned for 2008, will provide organisations with an on-line search and linking facility to volunteers with specific skills and experience.
